JUNIOR GUITAR PROGRAM

Discover how to Unlock your child's full Potential......

My son started lessons some time ago, thoroughly enjoys it and is making great progress. Paul is an excellent teacher, able to deal effectively with students of all ages and has a passion and enthusiasm for teaching. I was so impressed, I signed up for lessons too. Highly recommended.

What Makes It So Special?

Structured Method

Structured Method The G4 Guitar Method has been developed over the last 30 years and is used in 60+ G4 Guitar Schools across the globe to teach over 1000+ students a week. We believe it to be the quickest & easiest way to learn guitar.

7 Essential Skills

Our Junior program is built around the 7 essential guitar skills which has students playing their favourite songs quicker and teaches them everything they need to become a well rounded musician.

Checklists

We use checklists to help gamify the learning experience and keep both parent and teacher on the same page. Once completed students receive an engraved medal with a certificate and progress on to the next level.

Parent Support

Parent involvement is essential when learning guitar, especially at a young age which is why we support parents to make practice at home a fun and positive experience.

frequently asked questions

All students start on our 5-week intro course which allows us to work one on one with the students to develop understanding of our method and establish basic technique.

At the end of the 5 weeks students will have a basic understanding of the 7 essential guitar skills and would have already started their first song.

It will take a few months to get fingers really going but students who meet the recommend practice of 20 minutes 5 times a week can expect to have a good number of songs under their belt and to have completed the first G4 level within 6 – 12 months.

For a child aged 7 – 9 you will probably need a 1/2 size classical guitar. For children aged 9 – 12 you will probably need a 3/4 size classical guitar. We recommend Classical guitars for children as they have nylon strings which are more forgiving on the fingers.

We start all students on our 5-week intro course. This course is taught one-to-one and allows us to introduce the student to our unique method and work with the parents to establish a practice routine, the intro course costs £79 and includes 5 individual weekly lessons and all materials.

On completion of the 5-week introduction students will be able to continue learning in a small group (max. 5 students). We encourage all students to learn in small groups as it has been proven to be the most effective way to learn.

Group lessons are a £79 monthly subscription, which includes:

  • A structured method developed over the last 20 years
  • 4x weekly half hour lessons
  • Email and telephone support
  • Access to the student website which includes extra courses, songs and resources
  • FREE ticket to G4 Ashford’s monthly workshop Non-student cost £20
  • Regular performance opportunities

For children aged 7 – 12 we recommend 20 minutes a day at least five days a week. The secret to success on the instrument  is to establish a practice routine as quickly as possible. We work closely with parents to help make practice at home a fun and positive experience.
